Silversea Cruises announced the name for it’s new
540 passenger, all-suite ship, the new and exciting Silver Spirit. The
36,000 ton vessel is set to join the Silversea fleet in late December
2009. Accommodations will feature more of the popular
Silver
Suites, with a total of 26, and 222 Veranda Suites, 222.
There will also be six Grand Suites and two
Owner’s
Suites. All but 12 of the 270 suites will have verandas. Silver Seas
also announced that they are remodeling the other ships in the fleet and
adding additional suites, amenities and luxury items. The

Silversea also provided details regarding the ship’s design. Silversea
Cruises president and CEO, Amerigo Perasso said the ship has a “family
feel” as the design mirrors the line’s existing ships but it will have a
new supper club, an Asian restaurant and an expanded spa.
In addition to introducing a new supper club and the Asian restaurant,
Silversea will reprise familiar dining venues include The Restaurant,
The Wine Restaurant and the casual Pool Grille.
The new Spa at Silversea, which premiered aboard Silver Shadow’s world
cruise last year, will be rolled out aboard the new vessel with
dramatically more space. And Silver Spirit will feature many of the same
lounges found on the line’s existing ships, including an Observation
Lounge, Vista Lounge (similar to Panorama Lounge on the current fleet),
Show Lounge, Humidor and Pool Bar, plus a new Lobby Bar styled along the
lines of a European hotel, featuring Italian coffees, champagne, wine
and spirits.
