The 33,000-ton, all-suite, 490-guest Regent Seven Seas Navigator debuted in 1999 and features all ocean-view suites (90 percent with private balconies), plus fine dining options and generous space-per-guest ratios.

The 19,200-ton Paul Gauguin entered service in Tahiti and French Polynesia in 1998, the most deluxe cruise ship ever to be based there year-round.
